Fun Page #3: Rand Paul is Better Than Ted Cruz

But Rand Paul doesn't hold any of the great ideas of his father. He's too Republican. He supported Mitch McConnell over Matt Bevin. He's for Empire, and for War on Drugs... just “decriminalization”... he's making a huge stink over the Patriot Act, and rightfully so.

Alison says that Rand Paul isn't allowed to run for President AND US Senate because of the Kentucky Constitution. Alison is right about that. Geoff Young has a lawsuit on this very subject matter.

Jack Conway loves the Patriot Act. Matt Bevin is against it. Me and Matt Bevin are more Progressive on the Patriot Act, and on the War on Drugs, than Jack Conway is.

If the Democrats nominate a Republican-lite candidate, then what's the point? Why even have an election? Either we'll get a Hal Heiner, or we'll get Jack Conway acting like Hal Heiner. You can't out-Republican the Republicans. Alison couldn't do it, and neither will Jack. Jack's got to tap into his Progressive roots... running to the right of these Republicans would be a disaster for Kentucky, as for the Democratic establishment.

April 2, 2015. Adrienne Poole of the Meade County Messenger newspaper wrote “376,000 families in Kentucky are pensionless” (pg. 13A).

Franklin County, Kentucky Drug Cop was charged with stealing a bunch: http://www.kentucky.com/2015/04/06/3787140_former-franklin-narcotics-officer.html?rh=1 “U.S. District Judge Gregory F. Van Tatenhove also sentenced Matthew Christian Brown, 32, to spend two months in home incarceration and perform 330 hours of community service after he leaves prison. Brown also must pay $17,840 in restitution. Of that, $9,900 goes to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and more than $7,800 to a diamond brokerage in Chicago, according to court records and information from the sentencing hearing.”

In the Breckinridge County Herald-News, 3 insert advertisements fell out. They were: 1) Walmart; 2) Hardees/Red Burrito, and; 3) IGA.

Both IGA and Save-a-Lot in Hardinsburg, Kentucky are both owned by Houchens Industries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houchens_Industries “Houchens Industries, is an American employee-owned company, in business since 1918 when it began as a small grocery operated by founder Ervin Houchens in rural Barren County, Kentucky. The company is headquartered in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The company runs about 425 grocery and convenience stores. Sales in 2006 were just under $2 billion., with approximately 10,500 employees.” Houchens Industries was listed as being the 149th largest American company in the world. http://www.forbes.com/companies/houchens-industries/ “Houchens Industries, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, owns and operates supermarkets under several banners: Buehlers Buy Low, Food Giant, Houchens Markets, IGA, IGA Express, IGA Crossroads, Jr. Food Stores, Piggly Wiggly and Save-A-Lot. The company also has interests in a wide range of other businesses, including manufacturing, warehousing, construction, insurance, fast food restaurants, optical stores and financial services.”

Hardees/Red Burrito: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardee's “Hardee's is the sixth largest restaurant chain in the United States after Subway, McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, and Taco Bell. It is headquartered in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.” … “CKE Restaurants has been dual branding some Hardee's locations with Red Burrito, similar to its Green Burrito/Carl's Jr. dual brand concept. This is a similar strategy used by Yum! Brands with its KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, A&W Restaurants and Long John Silvers concepts to expand brands without the expense of new buildings and land.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Burrito

CKE Restaurants, Inc., is the parent company of the Carl's Jr., Hardee's, Green Burrito, and Red Burrito restaurant chains. Its headquarters are in Carpinteria, California. It was incorporated in 1964 by Carl's Jr. founder Carl Karcher as Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CKE_Restaurants http://www.al.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2012/12/red_burrito_hardees_mexican_fo.html

Walmart: Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walmart Walmart workers in Michigan make $13 an hour: http://www.mlive.com/lansing-news/index.ssf/2015/04/michigan_walmart_workers_get_a.html

So... in conclusion, since Houchens Industries is HQ'd here in Kentucky, it's awesome. Hardees/Red Burrito (HQ'd in Missouri/California) and Walmart (Arkansas HQ'd) on the other hand can go fuck themselves.
