2015 Kentucky Voter Guide for Kentucky's Media

2015 Kentucky Voter Guide for Kentucky's Media

August 11, 2015 is the last day that Drew Curtis, or any other Kentucky super-citizen who wants to make a difference, can register as an Independent Candidate for any of the current statewide offices up for grabs.

There's 7 positions up in the air, and 6 statewide races, since the Governor and Lieutenant Governor run as a joint slate.

There are 6 statewide races going on right now, and 1 special election for the 7th Supreme Court District in Eastern Kentucky, Will T. Scott's old seat, a current candidate on the Scott-Coffey Republican ticket for Governor.

Usually a blue blood has to wait until KFTC publishes their side-by-side comparisons of the candidates before we Kentucky citizens get some accurate publication of Kentucky's candidates.

So far, Kentucky's media has been mum about Kentucky's upcoming 2015 primaries. A little bit about me, but nothing about politics, the issues, or informing the public of information they need to know, so that they're informed citizens voting upon the best presentation of all of the knowledge they were supposed to be given by a corporation who pretends to cover news, but really is just peddling advertisements designed to hit the biggest audience into buying their advertiser's products or services.

3-The Secretary of State's Race:

4-The Auditor's Race: [a November Race]

5-The Commissioner of Agriculture's Race:
6-The Attorney General's Race:
The Auditor's race will see competition in November, but none in May.

Only two of the 6 races have incumbents, which means Kentucky will definitely see a new Governor, a new Lieutenant Governor (who runs as a slate with the Governor), a new Commissioner of Agriculture, a new Treasurer, and a new Attorney General, and possibly a new Secretary of State and a new state Auditor as well in 2016.

Most of Kentucky's leadership will be different on January 1, 2016 than what it is today, if not all of it. A change in leadership is Revolution, and so, therefore, I declare 2015 the year of Revolution for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

For Democrats, only 3 of these races will be competitive on May 19, 2015. For Republicans, only 5 of these races will be competitive.

Here's a crappy handwritten Kentucky's 2015 May Madness bracket, that's crudely drawn up, but serves it's function for this May 19, 2015 primary: http://young4ky.blogspot.com/2015/03/2015-kentucky-primary-brackets.html

The Democratic Civil War

For intelligent Democratic voters in Kentucky, they only have to study up on 3 races, since there's only 3 competitive Democratic races:

1- Governor and Lt. Gov

and

Andy Beshear, Adam Edelen, and Jean-Marie Lawson Spann are all running unopposed in Kentucky's Democratic primary for Attorney General, State Auditor, and Commissioner of Agriculture, respectively. If they're more Progressive than the Republican and Independent candidates, they'll have my vote in November.

For Governor, Kentucky Democrats will have to figure out if they like Jack Conway or Geoff Young more.

Geoff v Jack

For Secretary of State, Kentucky's Democrats will choose between Alison Grimes and Charles Lovett.

Alison has endorsed Jack Conway, and Geoff Young has endorsed Charles Lovett.

Alison:

Charles Lovett: http://young4ky.blogspot.com/2015/03/alison-v-charles.html

For Treasurer, Democrats will have to figure out if they like Neville Blakemore, Jim Glenn, Daniel Grossberg, Richard Henderson, or Rick Nelson the best. http://young4ky.blogspot.com/2015/03/kentuckys-2015-democratic-state.html

Neville Blakemore

Jim Glenn

v.

Daniel Grossberg

v.

Richard Henderson

Rick Nelson
